Finally an update!

I have been a big slacker in the blogging business lately, hopefully I can do better starting in February. January as you know is a month when there really isn't much to do and the weather doesn't know what it wants to do. So when the kids were out for Martin Luther King Jr. Day we took off for the Zoo. Yes, it looks like it was a beautiful spring day, well it kind of was, funny though the day before it was freezing. We had a lot of fun at the Zoo. We were even able to see a baby Spider Monkey (isn't he just so cute?!) He was so funny, we were mesmerized watching him.

Watching the Spider Monkeys.

I'm not usually in the pictures, so here is proof that I was there.

It's funny, we go to the Zoo to see the animals and all the kids want to do is play at the playground!

Everyone gave it a thumbs up!!

January, in our stake is Pinewood Derby time for the Cub Scouts. This year Ryan was the only eligible one again in the family. He did a great job on designing his car. He came in fourth place in the Webelos. Way to go Ryan!!!

His car also won an award for the "most muscle bound".

Ryan also had a book report due this last week in school. They had to use a T-shirt for this project. He decided to draw one of the pictures form the book he read onto the shirt. He did an awesome job. He is our artist. Check it out.

The book he read was "Leven Thumps and the Gateway to Foo" by Obert Skye. He highly recommends that you read this book. I have not read it yet, but I plan too, Clark loves these books too!!

Down here Mardi Grass is big. A friend of mine called to see if we wanted to go to the parade. I was short two kids (Emma at a friends house and Clark was at a Scout camporee), so Ryan and I took off for the parade (I had never been to a Mardi Grass Parade, beware lots and lots of beads, we came home with 20 or so necklaces). Here is Ryan in one of the masks my friend had. It was fun, hopefully if we go next year I will have more of my children to take with me.

As you can tell not much happening here. So I hope your month was fun and I promise I will try to do better and update quicker! HAVE A GREAT DAY!!!!

3 Years!!

I was driving home from taking Ryan to basketball practice yesterday when it hit me. Today is our three year anniversary of moving to Alabama. I can't believe it has been that long, it seems like it was just yesterday that we moved here.

I remember that day so vividly, as we were putting the kids to bed and trying to make sure everything was ready to go, Ryan came up to us and asked what the white spots were on his tongue and in his mouth. Yes, it wa
s strep So here we were having to catch a plane, I think it was supposed to be around noon, and try to get him to Urgent Care before, so I could get him on medicine before we left. We got to the Doctor, he did a culture came back positive, got a prescription, went back to the house said bye. We went to the store to get said prescription filled, by the time I got there the doctor hadn't called it in yet, it took forever. Because we were running late we didn't get to say bye to the rest of the family and we had to go straight to the airport. It had been a hectic week Clark was already on medication for a rash on his face and then by the time we actually reached Alabama Emma had signs of strep also. Thank heavens for the wonderful doctor we had, he just called in a prescription for her so I didn't have to worry about finding a place to take her, we hadn't even been here twelve hours yet. It had been one of those weeks when everything that could go wrong did, with sickness and knowing we were leaving our family and friends behind.

Clark, Ryan and Emma Watching for our plane at the Salt Lake Airport.

This was our home for the 2 1/2 weeks before we closed on our home.

Being here is a lot different then Smithfield, Utah. I do miss Cache Valley but I wouldn't trade this experience for anything (well except for the summers maybe, too hot and humid).

Sorry about the ramblings, but I felt like I needed to write this down, and since this is kind of my journal I wanted to write it here.

Have a great day:)
