Summertime, summertime, summertime!!

High Adventure hike.  Clark and Ryan were privileged to have a leader in the young mens that likes to hike, run and keep in shape.   The Priests had decided they they wanted to go on a high adventure activity and they carried it out  on March 23.  They headed north of Talladega, Al to the Pinhoti trail.  They were hoping to do 60 miles and ended up with almost 30 miles.  They left about 8:00 am and hiked all day and night. They did have a mishap, as they were transferring some of the boys one of the drivers dozed off and hit the guard rail.  Luckily no one was hurt, well except the van was banged up.  Thank heavens for little miracles.  Ryan was one of the boys in the van along with another one of the boys and they were asleep when it happened.

Thanks to all the leaders that helped out with the hike.  I know my boys had a great time and would love to do it again.  Also thanks to those who provided some of the pictures.  I know I was glad to get them.

Girls Camp 2014 June 3-6, 2014. This year was Emma's first year at girls camp and as one of the counselors I was also able to go too.  It was a lot of fun and I am glad I got the opportunity to share it with Emma.

Getting the low down on the ropes course.  The girls all love the ropes course.  Emma and myself not so much.  I like the zip line part but not the getting to the zip line.  I don't like heights and I think I passed that on to Emma.  But even with her being scared and needing some help across I am so proud of her.  She did it.  She got across to the zip line and with some help went down.  For some reason I can't upload the video so this is all I have.

Okay, it's my turn. Um, I think I will pass :)
I am going to sit here for a minute and catch my breath and get my bearings so I can go on. Oh and by the way did I tell you I don't like heights.

They did a great job!

My wonderful young women that went to camp.
and they are all acting normal. hehe

Swimming at the YMCA (and yes I am singing it as I type it)
We always make time to go to the pool, and we usually have a group we meet and let the littles have fun while us moms try to visit and keep an eye on them.

We went on a night when they have "family night" and they did some fun games with the kids and they even let those who wanted to and don't have their green necklaces (means they passed a swim test) go down one of the bigger slides.  He thought it was great.  He was scared at first and it took a little while but he ended up going down twice.
