Dad and Andrew were playing this morning, Andrew was shooting him with a Nerf gun and dad pretended to be dead. While he was lying there I tossed something over his eyes and it went like this...
Dad: I can't see, I can't see
Andrew: Open your eyes (as he is still shooting dad) and runs off.

Fall soccer has finally started...
and the kids were ready! It had been a long summer and they needed to get out and play. Clark and some of his friends tried a couple of times to get together and play, but with the heat and humidity they didn't do it as often as they would have liked. We were able to get lucky this time on practices. We have been playing for recreation ball for eleven seasons and we were finally able to have all (I mean all) of our practices on the same day at the same time with the exception of Ryan's team, they have the same schedule, except every other week they practice one hour later. But I am not complaining it has been GREAT so far and dad is helping coach Clark's team so it is even better.
We have only had a couple of games. These pictures are from Ryan's and Emma's first two games. They both played great. Ryan stopped a lot of goals and Emma even had a break away. Sadly they both lost their games. Their teams are doing better. There are only two teams in Ryan's division so they have played each other twice, and this week they play one of the travel ball teams here and in a a couple of weeks they play another ball team from one of the city's about 20 minutes from us. Emma has five teams in her division and they play each other twice. This last Saturday was the third week of play and Ryan had a bye and Em's team lost again. The team they played has several kids that are really good. They played a great game just didn't have any luck in winning. Both Emma and Ryan play Thursday so Good Luck Guys!!

Clark had a bye the first week of play and I wasn't thinking on Saturday to grab the camera (as I was headed over to the church for Super Saturday as soon as I could get there, they had me teaching something later on that matter so I was worried about forgetting stuff for that) and of course, guess who scores? I know, I was actually supposed to be gone by then. I was going to leave a round half time or 10:30, they were down 0-3 at the half and came back to win the game 4-3, so see I couldn't leave. The scoring all started when Clark was fouled and went down (for a second) and his teammate scored on the penalty kick. A few minutes later Clark took the ball down the field and scored (even if I did have my camera I would have missed it). There was no way I could leave now (yes, it's 10:30 by now) what if they score again, and the game is almost over anyway. So I endured to the end of the game. I am glad I did since just as I was thinking I have really got to and another player scored, and just right before the game ended another player scored. It was great, the other team came out with gusto at the beginning of the game and scored their three goals right off the bat. So Great job team!!
Thee pictures are from the second week of play (their first game) they won (I think it was 6-0, correct me if I am wrong).

Skirts and September Visiting Teaching
Sorry I have been slacking on my updates lately. I had not not been feeling well, I thought it was just allergies. I had been coughing for a week with friends telling me I need to go to the doctor. I already had an appointment with the gynecologist and I didn't want to have to pay another co-pay so I was waiting and hoping he could help me out. Well he did and I ended up with bronchitis. So I was sent home with a Z-pac and some cough syrup that would help me sleep at night (I hadn't been sleeping due to waking up with my coughing fits and I really needed some sleep), I was looking forward to getting rid of this gunk. I am done with the meds and am starting to feel better, I still don't have a lot of energy yet but it is slowly returning. I have a couple of updates to get on here and a house to clean.
If you all know Emma she loves skirts, and to find a skirt that is modest just doesn't happen. So we (her and I) decided that I would make her some. While we were in Utah on vacation we decided to get the fabric. She found the fabric with the peace signs on it and fell in love with it, so we decided to match it with some plain material and make a tiered skirt, but first we had to find a pattern. We were in luck except the pattern was a smaller size, but it was only a dollar( and I won't pay much more then that for a pattern). It wasn't hard to figure out how to make it bigger and off we were. I did make another skirt for her and I totally forgot to take a picture and a still have some more fabric that we are going to use for something else, we are just trying to decide on making a sarong skirt or another skirt or dress for school. I wanted to post this with my family in mind so they could see how cute the skirt turned out if I do say so myself!
Em so excited to finally get to wear her skirt!
This month for visiting teaching I decided since we had just gotten a new route the week before, we would do something with a get to know you kind of theme. This is what I came up with. It is kind of a spin off of what we did for teacher gifts this last year, except I put "We were just 'popping' by to let you know we are 'soda' excited to get to know you!" If you are like me popcorn and IBC Rootbeer would just hit the spot. I hope the sisters enjoyed it.
I didn't think it looked so great but a little cellophane and ribbon made it look so much better.

A (partial) load of weight off Clark's shoulders
It is official Clark has got his Eagle project approved and announced it on Sunday. Yea!! One step closer to that Eagle. For his project he is putting together groups to go clean up, wipe down and paint about fifty fire hydrants in the county. Not a whole lot of prep work and fundraising but we are good with that. He has been working on getting this organized and approved for the last month, he actually had it approved before school started but was trying to wait for soccer to start and his Varsity coach to help to pick a Saturday to carry it out. They still don't have a schedule but chose a date anyway. It is set for the end of September. I am so proud of Clark for deciding what to do and having to do the prep work for the project without our help (other then me being the chauffeur, just kidding). Here's to getting the project finished. Pictures to come as soon as we finish and mom has a minute to post.
